A new tradition started last year where a Christmas Eve Box was waiting under the tree for a special little boy.

Inside the Christmas Eve Box were a new pair of (prewashed) Christmas pajamas, a Christmas movie, a Christmas storybook, a fun Lego Christmas activity book, a small Christmas Snowman plush toy and popcorn.

The idea behind it was to create a new tradition he would look forward to every year and most importantly create warm memories of Christmas.

The Christmas Eve Box contains all the items needed to enjoy a family night celebrating the season.

With the new jammies on and a new plush toy the family can all snuggle up to watch a Christmas movie while munching on popcorn.

Or read the Christmas story as he falls asleep with sugar plums dancing in his head.

The pajamas were prewashed so they could be worn that night and be picture perfect ready on Christmas morning beside the tree.

With the excitement of Santa on his way this Christmas Eve Box is also a great way to entertain the kids... okay, really I mean to distract them so they don’t ask a million times “When is Santa going to be here?”

My grandson was so excited to open the box it really was magical.

This year, I’ll encourage the opening of the Christmas Eve Box earlier as Christmas Eve is filled with family events.  This way there is an opportunity to have that special family time whenever his parents feel it is important to regroup in the true meaning of Christmas.

Creating a Christmas Eve Box does not need to be expensive. Simply include a few items that will make special memories for your family and those picture ready PJ's for Christmas morning.

Perhaps it is a Gingerbread House kit to make together or a traditional Christmas movie you watched growing up.

For me, the tradition piece were the pajamas since I received PJ’s from my Grandmother every year.  A book or a movie is always a good reason to snuggle up.

Oh yes, this year I’ll need to remember the hot chocolate mix!

What special items or activities would you place in the Christmas Eve Box?
